Parents Share the Saddest Things Their Child Has Said

In a special survey, ten parents shared emotional moments when their kids

said things that broke their hearts. Whether it was asking about difficult

things or saying something sweet, these moments show how powerful a child’s

words can be and how deep the love between parents and kids really is.

The Story:
My husband died suddenly when my son was 5 years old. The next day,

I sat him down to tell him that daddy had died. I had to speak calmly,

almost like it was just a fact, because I didn’t want him to cry.

I thought he was too young to have his heart broken like that.

He listened quietly. Then he looked at me and said, “Mommy, I want a new heart. This one hurts.
